Oslo Urban Area
The Bjørvika development project is the biggest city development project Norway has ever seen. 20 000 people will work in Bjørvika and 10 000 people will live here. Oslo S Utvikling (OSU) is developing 380 000 sq.m. of the total 900 000 sq.m. The company was established in 2001, and is owned by Entra ASA, Linstow AS and Bane Nor Eiendom AS. OSU’s vision is to develop Bjørvika to become Norway’s most attractive district.
Situated between Oslo Central Station, the Middelalder- and Ekeberg parks and the Oslofjord, Bjørvika will become the new heart of Oslo, surrounded by idyllic scenery. Oslo S Utvikling will in total develop and build around 170 000 sq.m. office space, 1900 homes and 29 000 sq.m. retail space, which will house restaurants and cafes, shops, service providers and art galleries.
The whole Bjørvika area will be finalized within 2024. It will be an exciting, diverse and vibrating place to experience, as it will host and merge cultural experiences, galleries, museums, great restaurants, Norway’s leading businesses, modern homes and architectural gems; All wrapped in a green environment next to the Oslofjord. It is also expected that many tourists will flock to the area to see and experience the Opera House, the new Munch Museum and Barcode
